Free parking is available at Frew Park. Drive along Haig Road and enter Frew Street to access the car park. Disabled car parks are also available.

Named after Mr Robert Dickson Alison Frew the president of the QLD Lawn Tennis Association from 1910-1930, Frew Park is home to tennis in Brisbane and is located between Milton Park and Gregory Park.

The Roy Emerson Tennis Centre is open to the public seven days a week and provides a wide variety of tennis-related programs and services including coaching programs, interclub fixtures, holiday clinics, social tennis, Cardio Tennis and Hot Shots, plus a fully-stocked pro-shop with a racquet restringing service.

The park boasts 3.5 hectares of parkland with a cafe above the amenities block overlooking the entire park, as well as a wide range of sporting facilities including:

  • 6 tennis courts plus the tennis centre
  • basketball, netball & volleyball courts
  • several picnic & BBQ areas
  • fitness equipment
  • carpark (access via Haig Rd)
  • interactive daytime space for children to play
  • proshop building with public toilets
  • plenty of shade for picnics

The Arena Play Space

The play space has been designed to suit children and young people from 10-15 years of age.

The PlayWorks and Guymer Baily Architects, have combined architectural and play components to design a play space based on the former tennis court grandstand. The play space includes:

  • a large climbing wall
  • a large three metre wide, three metre high, slide
  • various angled surfaces for climbing
  • seating ledges for social interaction
  • climbing nets and cages, including a mesh cage eight metres off the ground
  • a large, curling, five metre high, slide

In addition to all this the original giant tennis racquet has returned to Frew Park!
